the creator, producer and all-around mastermind behind Saturday Night Live, dropped big news today, announcing that both Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson will no longer be on the show. A surprise, to say the least, for not only Watkins and Wilson, but for the staff and SNL fans as well. Especially for Michaela Watkins, as she had found a lot of success this past season. Now, SNL had already made news earlier this week when it hired both Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad on for the 35th Season, but at the time fans of the show believed they would be additions, not replacements.

Watkins responded to the news by expressing “shock” and “sadness” as “it just felt premature.” Nevertheless, not one to stay down she also said, “But on some level I feel like there are so many opportunities and things that I want to do in the future and now they’ll just happen sooner rather than later.” As well as, “I just want to make people laugh, and I want to do that the best way possible.”

Let’s hope this is just the beginning of her career.

Senator Ted Kennedy has lost his battle with brain cancer. He died just before midnight, Tuesday, August 25, 2009, in his home located in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. Senator Kennedy was 77.

On this day of Ted Kennedy’s passing, I don’t want to take away from the stories of his life and accomplishments. But – since my focus is lung cancer and empowering survivors – I had to share a story I am not seeing in the headlines.

Ted Kennedy was a lung cancer advocate.

Kara Kennedy Allen, 49, Ted Kennedy’s only daughter, was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in late 2002. At the time she was only 42 years old, and the mother of two young children. Most of us have heard about his family’s struggle with cancer, but his role in being an advocate for his daughter with lung cancer is heartwarming.

Sitting with his daughter in 2002, Ted Kennedy found her diagnosis of inoperable lung cancer – a diagnosis that counts survival rate in months rather than years – unacceptable. So he took matters into his own hands. He researched the disease, researched doctors, and eventually found a surgeon he could put his faith in to remove Kara’s tumor. Dr. David. J. Sugarbaker, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, was able to remove her cancer, and following chemotherapy, she is still with us today.

Ted Kennedy’ support went beyond being his daughter’s patient advocate. He encouraged his daughter in her faith and prayed for her every day.

I am unaware of the stage of Kara’s lung cancer. Surgery is not an option for everyone, and despite our best efforts, most people diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer do not survive as long as Kara. But, at least in Kara’s case, not accepting a first opinion, and being a participant in rather than a recipient of healthcare, was important.

Today, as we mourn Ted Kennedy’s passing, I am grateful for this part of his life that may not make the headlines, but perhaps made all the difference in his daughter’s life. At the same time, my heart goes out to those who don’t have a father like Ted Kennedy to play their advocate.

The official decision was made at the Atlantis Resort by a 12-person judging panel that included Andre Leon Talley, the editor-at-large for American Vogue, actor Dean Cain and supermodel Valeria Mazza. It was Venezuela's sixth Miss Universe crown in the 59-year history of the pageant.

The main event Sunday was hosted by Celebrity Apprentice star Claudia Jordan and Access Hollywood co-anchor Billy Bush, and included performances by rapper Flo Rida, singers David Guetta and Kelly Rowland and reality star Heidi Montag.

Fernandez, 18, inherited the Miss Universe crown from another Venezuelan, Dayana Mendoza, who won the competition in 2008. During her reign, Mendoza traveled the globe as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation.

The newly crowned Miss Universe is expected to do the same.

Two other young women from Latin America made it into the top five: 23-year-old Ada de la Cruz of the Dominican Republic and Mayra Matos, 20, of Puerto Rico.

The top group also included young women from Australia and Kosovo.

As the new Miss Universe, Fernandez will receive a monetary prize, the size of which has been kept confidential.

The top award also includes a 100,000-dollar scholarship to study acting at an academy in New York, a five-day vacation package in the Bahamas for two, a set of jewelry and a complete wardrobe.

The main attraction for contestants is an opportunity to break into and establish themselves in the lucrative world of show business, organizers said.

"Women who seek the title of Miss Universe are driven by their desires to open for themselves new opportunities in the world of acting and entertainment," Acirema Alayeto, president of Miss Latin America Organization, told AFP.

Each contestant was judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview as they vied for the coveted title.

For the past two weeks, the women have been touring the various islands and participating in preliminary legs of the competition including the swimsuit presentation in Grand Bahama, a costume presentation, a fashion showcase featuring local designs and fabrics and a state auction dinner in New Providence.

The contestants have also toured other Bahamian islands, including Grand Bahama, Bimini, Exuma, Eleuthera and Abaco, visiting landmarks and posing for photographs.

As Hurricane Bill neared last week, several contestants expressed worries about their safety and the prospects for the competition, but the storm's path passed far away from the islands.

The pageant, broadcast by the NBC network, was viewed by an estimated worldwide viewing audience of approximately one billion people.

Blizzard has now opened BlizzCon 2009 and already the news that has do out has been truly amazing. The most going declaration has to be the news of a new expansion pack for World Of Warcraft called Cataclysm. The only thing that gamers are now interested in is the release date of the new WoW expansion pack, but Blizzard is not giving anything away just yet, well maybe just a trailer.

According to a early article in The Telegraph, Blizzard’s Chris Metzen has said that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will variety the face of the WoW online multi-player game. This latest and what is thought to be the best expansion pack yet boasts a host of new features, these include increased players, now up to 85.

Other new features include seven new playing zones, two new playable races for the Alliance and the Horde factions, new monsters, new character classes and hundreds of new quests for you to play.

Ryan Jenkins arrest rumors prove to be false



Reporters claim that police was boarded an airplane and arrested a man that they believed to be ryan enkins. This was hapen at Toronto airport last night.
But it was believed this guy to be somewhere in Canada

Canada will not deport a person charged in a death penalty case. In order for Canada to extradite Ryan Jenkins, he would have to be charged with a non-capital crime. We are pretty certain that there are many members of the public who would be happy to smuggle Jenkins back into the US so he can face the death penalty.

According to TMZ, Ryan Jenkins may be headed to a small island off of Honduras called Roatan. Jenkins father, Dan, has connections to the island. Dan Jenkins just so happens to own a private jet.
